US equity futures drag as investors await Fed Chair Kevin Warsh’s speech at the Jackson Hole Economic Symposium to look for clues on the central bank’s outlook and strategy on inflation. Shares of Nvidia drag in pre-market trading after adding $442 billion in value in a day, its second-biggest daily gain on record. Paypal extends its decline as Advent and Stripe are said to have pulled out their $50 billion buyout bid. Venezuela is reportedly weighing an exit from OPEC in discussions with US officials. Stocks Hit Record Highs After Strait of Hormuz Is Declared Open | Closing Bell

Stocks surged Friday, sending the Nasdaq 100 Index to its longest winning streak since 2013, as Iran reopened the vital Strait of Hormuz and President Donald Trump said a deal to end the seven-week war could be finalized soon.

The S&P 500 closed 1.2% higher, extending a five-day advance that’s pushed it back over January’s record high, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average jumped 1.8%.
