‘They treat people like garbage’: New York City Council employee on ICE detention

New York City Council data analyst Rafael Rubio Bohorquez detained on Long Island and ordered to be deported to Venezuela, but after spending over five months in U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody, he released from Delaney Hall in Newark, New Jersey. Officials said Bohorquez overstayed a tourist visa and had a prior arrest for assault, but City Council Speaker Julie Menin said he had Temporary Protected Status valid through October of this year. Bohorquez tells Mika about his time in custody.
