Designer Marco Zanini has a long list of references–Tim Burton, Alfred Hitchcock, cinema…but the cat-eye sunglasses, the kerchiefs and the quiet conservative looks give off the air of a particular two decades. Organza, silk duchesse, pastel blue, embroidery, and shirtdresses that fell below the knee encompassed this fifties trend that seemed to reign throughout the collection–even as the colors and prints became louder with florals, orange, and a pink/white graphic pattern. And of course, the black reeled in that sophistication that Marco Zanini is known for with shift dresses, lace, and knits.

Makeup Artist Uchiide says his team is focusing on the lips with very little makeup otherwise, though models have glowing skin. Eugene Soleiman’s team is creating a hairstyle that tailors to a collection he calls “pop but no color.” The hairstyle is pulled to the side in a nonchalant way that is still hipster cool, and targets the line. Model Nastya Kusakina opens the show, which starts in black and white dresses with big paillettes and sequins in plastic vinyl, according to Rue Du Mail designer Martine Sitbon. There are some big florals thrown in, and finally some of “pops of color” including blue vinyl, pink, burgundy, and mustard tones.

At Daylight Studio during New York Fashion Week, Private Policy unveiled its S/S 2027 collection, “”Stitched, Not Blended.””

Rejecting the pressure to force cultural compromise, co-creative directors Haoran Li and Siying Qu explore how two distinct worlds can coexist in complete wholeness, using New York basketball culture and its massive Mandarin-speaking global fanbase as a powerful metaphor for youth living between cultures.

The collection brings this philosophy to life through sharp contrast: structured, court-inspired outerwear meets fluid organza layers, while deconstructed basketball jerseys, varsity-stripe ribbing, and tailored suits feature exposed, heavy-gauge contrast stitching that holds the garments together.

Nylon utility track pants, oversized bomber jackets, and convertible zip-off sleeves sit alongside refined Mandarin collar shirting and metallic hardware details.

Instead of blending elements into a uniform hybrid, Private Policy allows each fabric, silhouette, and cultural reference to retain its true identity, held in place by visible, resilient seams.
