For his inaugural Haute Couture collection for Jean Paul Gaultier, Duran Lantink stages a thrilling collision between historic majesty and futuristic innovation. The collection titled “Tech Couture” functions as an experimental laboratory where traditional atelier craftsmanship meets cutting-edge technology. Built on 3D-printed flexible TPU and PA12 exoskeletons, the garments push silhouettes to their absolute sculptural limits.

Shoulders swell into steroidal proportions, crinolines transform into architectural conduits for cascading tulle, and the iconic Gaultier cone bra migrates across the body as sharp, thorn-like protrusions. Rooted in a subtle, subverted fantasy of eighteenth-century Versailles, the collection references Marie Antoinette through microbead embroideries, capri breeches, and monumental court volumes, deliberately embracing the absurd luxury of dysfunction.

Rich shades of iconic Gaultier burgundy, bleu de Roy, and flamant rose intertwine with house history, breathing new life into archived 2002 fabrics and reconstructed biker jackets, all anchored by Dutch Zeeuwse Knopen filigree jewelry. By blending 3D-printed precision with the unmatched mastery of the Gaultier ateliers, Lantink challenges the classic frontal gaze, presenting a dynamic, three-dimensional reality where the impossible becomes possible.
