Robinhood CEO Tenev Talks Crypto Rules and Prediction Markets

Published

on

Robinhood co-founder and CEO Vlad Tenev says clearer, more permanent crypto rules would give investors confidence that regulations won’t shift with changing administrations. Trump Delays Canada Tariffs, Takes Hard Line on Iran | Daybreak Europe 8/19/2026

Bloomberg Daybreak Europe is your essential morning viewing to stay ahead. Live from London, we set the agenda for your day, catching you up with overnight markets news from the US and Asia. And we’ll tell you what matters for investors in Europe, giving you insight before trading begins.

The Trump administration delayed 50% tariffs on billions of dollars of Canadian products for three days, saying the two sides had reached a tentative agreement to resolve a broader trade dispute that had plunged relations to a fresh low.

US President Donald Trump insisted Tuesday that there were no talks ongoing with Iran, leaving the simmering conflict in the Middle East and control of the Strait of Hormuz stuck in limbo.

And a global selloff in semiconductor stocks deepened as investors retreated from one of the year’s hottest trades amid elevated bond yields and geopolitical uncertainty.

Today’s guest: Freya Beamish, GlobalData TS Lombard, Chief Economist.
