The Wall Street Journal has a new two-part feature detailing what it describes as Europe’s ‘rupture’ with the United States following this week’s NATO Summit in Turkey. The Journal reports that President Trump’s tariff’s and threats to take Greenland has sparked a quote, “rebellion” amongst European leaders who are now drawing limits on so-called “flattery diplomacy.” The paper reports many leaders now view autonomy as the long-term goal,. Rather than a temporary measure, adding that even if leadership changes the era of relying on America so heavily had ended. My opinion: The fall of the US empire can be traced back to its core foundation, "OUR LAW SYSTEM." The US legal system now embodies various emotions and qualities such as compassion, forgiveness, prosecution, and corruption. Unfortunately, many of our leaders, with backgrounds in law, have turned Washington into a courtroom battleground, losing sight of their primary responsibility to lead the nation for the people. Corruption has become a constant presence in Washington, with Republicans and Democrats relentlessly attacking each other in a courtroom-like atmosphere 24/7. Moreover, our nation is burdened with an overwhelming "DEBT," and our infrastructure lags "TRILLIONS" behind in much-needed improvements. The prevailing inflation is further exacerbating the plight of the citizens, pushing many toward poverty.
