The burgeoning Belgian designer Tom Van Der Borght presented his fall/winter 2021 menswear collection named “Seven Ways To Be TVDB / Act 3: A Hopeful Parade” at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Berlin. His show is a real psychodelic explosion of colors and textures with crystals, pearls, tinsels and tassels packed to popping with extraordinary handmade pieces including intarsia faux-fur kaftans, heavily beaded and embroidered jersey tracksuits and classic tailored two-pieces finished in surreal cartoonish patterns.

For Fall 2011, New York Couture Fashion Week brought out the best of haute couture in the city that never sleeps. The events took place in the Grand Ballroom of the Waldorf-Astoria, where 18 designers from all over the world were showcased for the crowd. Designers like Sushima Patel and Haya Al Houti (from India and Kuwait respectively) showcased their jewel tone pieces while Suzie Turner features lingerie-inspired black dresses . FashionTV has the scoop with backstage footage and an inside look at many of the shows as the models get their hair and makeup done in colorful looks and unique styles. Lavish gowns traipse down the runway, some with embellished fabrics, exaggerated trains, and intricate bead work.

At Milan Fashion Week, designer Marco Rambaldi staged a poignant, deeply intimate exploration of identity and chosen sanctuary with his spring/summer 2027 collection.
Drawing on Virginia Woolf’s seminal text “A Room of One’s Own” and the candid, humanizing photography of Lisetta Carmi and Nan Goldin, Rambaldi reframed the home not as a place of confinement, but as a site of self-determination, bodily autonomy, and emotional refuge.
The runway showcased a poetic synthesis of craft and vulnerability, featuring wallpaper-patterned textiles, artisanal crochet draped over denim, balloon skirts, and sheer crepe de Chine dresses with theatrical backs.
Backstage, amid an electric atmosphere where makeup artist Rosh Kumarasinghe crafted soft, lived-in beauty looks, Marco Rambaldi shared the collection’s core inspiration.
He explained that handmade craftsmanship was his language for honoring chosen families and safe spaces, noting that true liberation begins when we claim our own narratives and turn domestic intimacy into a radical, unyielding celebration of identity.

A Noble Letter
بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

[Surat Al-A'raf: 26]
O children of Adam! We have provided for you clothing to cover your nakedness and as an adornment. As for the dress of Taqwā (piety), that is the best. That is one of the signs of Allah, so that they may learn a lesson.
يَٰبَنِيٓ ءَادَمَ لَا يَفۡتِنَنَّكُمُ ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنُ كَمَآ أَخۡرَجَ أَبَوَيۡكُم مِّنَ ٱلۡجَنَّةِ يَنزِعُ عَنۡهُمَا لِبَاسَهُمَا لِيُرِيَهُمَا سَوۡءَٰتِهِمَآۚ إِنَّهُۥ يَرَىٰكُمۡ هُوَ وَقَبِيلُهُۥ مِنۡ حَيۡثُ لَا تَرَوۡنَهُمۡۗ إِنَّا جَعَلۡنَا ٱلشَّيَٰطِينَ أَوۡلِيَآءَ لِلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤۡمِنُونَ
[Surat Al-A'raf: 27]
O children of Adam! Do not let Satan deceive you as he tempted your parents out of Paradise and caused their cover to be removed in order to expose their nakedness. Surely he and his soldiers watch you from where you cannot see them. We have made the devils allies of those who disbelieve.
