The president doesn't ever consider the possibility that if he acted like a president (and there are, say, 38 or 40 pretty good models to follow among the 44 before him) he'd be treated oh so much more kindly by the media. He insists that the rest of the country conform to and admire his persona just because less than 30% of adult Americans bothered to vote for him and certain of his advisers tell him how wonderful he is. Sorry, but you don't convince the other 70%of your fellow citizens by acting like what they consider to be anathema to the presidency. He doesn't get that. He thinks that being more and more like a bully interested only in his own image will win over those to whom that is exactly the opposite of what they want to see in a president. Compare this to Barack Obama, who in 2010, explained to Anthony Scaramucci to his face that just because he was for raising taxes on billionaires didn't mean he didn't like billionaires, to which Mr. Scaramucci nodded in agreement. (He didn't look like he was falling asleep, so I assume it was agreement with the man Pres. Trump has said was "bad [or sick]." Indeed, former Pres. Obama congratulated billionaires on their success. However, he didn't populate his Cabinet and inner circle only with people who were wealthy precisely because they were wealthy, as Pres. Trump has.
