Jen Psaki: ‘I was surprised’ to hear U.S AG Gonzales suggest Trump should go to jail if convicted
Jen Psaki joins Andrea Mitchell to discuss her interview with former U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, who said former President Donald Trump should be held accountable if found guilty in his four potential trials. “What he said is so interesting because it goes right to the point,” says Psaki. “Oath Keepers, people who participated on January 6 in the instruction, many of them have gone to jail. That was part of the Department of Justice’s strategy. So if Donald Trump is convicted of that, shouldn’t he also go to jail? It is an equal justice under law question, but I was surprised, it took him a second to get there, but that he did go there in the interview.”

I would hope that someone would hold Trump accountable for his endless Threats.
He is obviously in Contempt of Court, and locking him up for a couple of days would be Fair and Just, He would squeal like the coward he is, and Beg to be set free.
But if he is found Guilty? I would require a Psychiatric examination before Sentencing.

I'm surprised that any American would think powerful people should avoid prison. An enduring trial of my life is that I am ideologically aligned with Democrats, but the people running the party are all surrender monkeys. The only reason the MAGAts have any footing at all is because people like Psaki have risen to the top of the party. Trump should have been arrested by Obama's DoJ. Do you hear the collective gasp? Who will save us from do-gooders with no spine?

It's totally possible to manufacture charges and put anyone in jail. But after you get rid of all your political enemies then everyone can go to jail for anything. Why can't he challenge an election 🤔? The democrats did the same thing. Why does the doj go for republican specifically? From here it looks unequal. I know it's a big joke on your side. The Banks and the Super Pacs have the Money and of course, the Power to elect a President.
There is no Democracy, there are Presidents working for "Big Money", they use the Presidency as an investment. Obama with his Goldman Sachs buddies were great examples: Which Banker and white-collared criminals went to jail due to their crimes committed during the 2008/2009 financial crisis? The answer is : None.
But in the Trump case, it is; "nobody is above the Law" and indeed it should be like that in all cases.
Justice does not matter, Money does.

Oh, trump had better get a prison sentence when found guilty of the fake elector scheme. I want him to go to prison for causing hundreds of thousands of people to perish during the pandemic for his lying and mishandling it. Also bc he gave his family members important positions in the government for which they were not qualified – NEPOTISM! He gave millions of pandemic stimulus money to his buddies and family. He directly incited insurrection and many are now serving prison sentences. It would be a travesty of justice if the insurrectionists are serving time but he got off. NO, NO, NO HE MUST GO TO PRISON.

Trump should of course go to jail if convicted but what is the moral standing of Gonzalez, who legally justified brutal torture of detainees during the Bush-Cheney administration? I’m sick of MSNBC trotting out war criminals as paragons of the so-called rule of law as long as they’re anti-Trump.
