The Wall Street Journal has a new two-part feature detailing what it describes as Europe’s ‘rupture’ with the United States following this week’s NATO Summit in Turkey. The Journal reports that President Trump’s tariff’s and threats to take Greenland has sparked a quote, “rebellion” amongst European leaders who are now drawing limits on so-called “flattery diplomacy.” The paper reports many leaders now view autonomy as the long-term goal,. Rather than a temporary measure, adding that even if leadership changes the era of relying on America so heavily had ended. The reporters behind the story join Morning Joe to discuss the ground-breaking revelations.

The Trump administration issued subpoenas on Friday to several journalists for The New York Times, after the paper reported on security concerns involving President Trump’s new Qatari-donated Air Force One. In some cases, the subpoenas were delivered by federal agents who showed up at reporters’ homes. The subpoenas seek to force the reporters to testify before a federal grand jury in Manhattan on Wednesday, and are an extraordinary escalation in President Trump’s efforts to threaten and intimidate independent news organizations. NYT Investigative reporter Michael Schmidt joins Morning Joe with more on this developing story.

I really hope for all the actors and writers that things progress well for them all! It is a very long time for them all to go with out pay! I do not understand the CEO of the streaming services who make a fortune why they resist paying what they know they should to these actors and writers! I want all people to be able to make a living wage. But I'm sorry, I can't really feel sorry for people in the auto industry that make close to 30.00 an hour when my husband and I live on less than 30,000 a year on SS. How come Stephanie that we are supposed to boohoo for these folks and the elderly are forgotten. Oh that's right we got a big raise last year but of course inflation went up. I know I sound bitter but I'm tired of having to go to a food bank fir food. I worked over 50 years. I earned my SS but is it enough to live on? No. I gad a 401 but 2008 took care of that
