Democrat Haley Stevens has broken with her party to endorse GOP nominee Mike Rogers following days of public tensions with her former primary rival, Abdul El-Sayed. Stevens appeared with Rogers at a Detroit church today on what was supposed to be a day of unity for Michigan Democrats.

Stevens’ chief of staff and communications director have quit following her endorsement of Rogers in Michigan’s critical Senate race, two sources told CNN.

CNN’s Fredricka Whitfield discusses Stevens’ surprise move with CNN senior political analyst Nia-Malika Henderson, CNN correspondent Brian Todd and CNN chief Congressional correspondent Manu Raju.
