How High Did MAGA Riot Plot Go? Jan. 6 Panel Eyes Trump

Published

on

As the Jan. 6 committee gears up for its first prime time public hearing, MSNBC’s Ari Melber examines public statements from Trump allies, including some made on The Beat, to question whether the events of Jan. 6 at the U.S. Capitol merely amount to a rally that got out of control or were rather a well-organized plan to overthrow the government.

The "riot" started when the capitol police removed the barricades and invited the "rioters" into the capitol. Even took time for selfies during the walk to the capitol.

No, sorry folks!..Trump and all his political 'insiders' will get clean away with all of this, no matter how damning the evidence against them!..Do you really want to start another civil war?..Indict Trump and you will!..Millions of his rabid supporters, armed to the teeth, believing Trump is their Messiah, will rise up at the first hint of it! And they are everywhere!..In law enforcement, in the military, in national guards, in security agencys..Everywhere!..But they need to be organised!..Thats their problem..To many of them standing up and shouting, getting in each others way, and easily removed! But there's enough there to make the major guilty partys safe from any dangerous prosecutions! Those who would prosecute..Are aware of it!

Yeah lots of "new" coverage here the whole riot was stupid but there was no real threat to democracy here it was over in 3 hours and honestly it was a bunch of idiots who should have never been let in the building. The election process was over trump was upset with the handling of the election but he told the crowd to peacefully protest he didn't say storm the capitol. Trump definitely handled this poorly and it's a shame he should have told the crowd to disperse as soon as they got inside and trespassed, but they were let in I blame security more than anything and regardless Biden has botched this economy so badly they are clinging to this old story like crazy

If they can show that Trump directed something then that would be reason for Trump to be charged? I don’t understand??? You guys aren’t aware that Trump’s MO is to never directly direct ANYTHING. If that’s the only way he would bare responsibility for this, then he will NOT bare responsibility. PERIOD. There is no question about this. This entire video is a waste of time.

If the findings of the January 6th committee failed to sway the Donald Trump cult it is because they are too crazed with fear, hate, racism, and their inability to grasp complex concepts. And then of course there is Rupert Murdoch's Fox propaganda machine perpetuating a lame counter-narrative which shouldn't convince a six-year-old.

The dems are finally getting a tad news savy. Probably thx to the GOP on the committee. For 5 years we have watched faux news/Russian propaganda mislead the low IQ of our country into an alternate universe of lies unchallenged. Now they are releasing only a bit of the scoop at a time allowing the news cycle to run with each morsel as it is reveled. WE HAVE ONLY BEEN SERVED THE BREAD LAST NIGHT. We still have wine, soup, salad and appetizers before the main course. Then there is the desert to look forward to.

  34. @copperhoard1110

14th Amendment, Section 3: "No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States,
or under any state, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in INSURRECTION or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof."
This is the reason Tucker Carlson (Fox News) doesn't want to use the term "insurrection". But that is exactly what this was, and Trump needs to be barred from ever running for office again.

Trump stressing you out? Dan Harris on how ACTION absorbs anxiety to DEFEND DEMOCRACY

Published

on

By

After suffering a panic attack on live national television, Dan Harris has learned some lessons. He shares some advice amidst this anxious moment in our country: regulate and engage. Harris knows that the most important fight is the one happening within. Reflecting on his journey of self-regulation, the former ABC anchor recalls a news report on Good Morning America on a warm June morning in 2004 where he — very publicly — had a panic attack live on-air. It was a huge wake up call for him, he says. “I realized I needed to change my life.” More than two decades later, the “10% Happier” podcast host joins Nicolle days after the debut of his two new series: MS NOW’s “The Week in Sanity” and “Never Worry Alone.” They discuss the benefits of meditation, argue against the toxicity of modern wellness culture and assert that despair is one of the enemies of democracy. In an anxious and polarized political climate, Harris encourages people to lean on each other, noting that “trying to do it alone is a really reliable route to suffering.” In fact, if salvation exists from pessimism about the future, it’s in the form of love. “When you do good, it feels good.”
