Most neutral specialists believe a frozen conflict is the most likely outcome. A frozen conflict is not a peace treaty or negotiation. It is a state of war, paused by both sides with a status quo of the front lines. If NATO pursues it's current position of no direct conflict with Russia, a frozen conflict will result in a frozen road map and timeline for Ukraine to join NATO. No treaty and no NATO membership means no security guarantees for Ukraine. The only solution is the West offering security guarantees for Ukraine and for Russia. Such guarantees must be given by those who have the power to end this war: Biden and Putin. There is no alternative because a frozen conflict will leave Ukraine empty handed
