These Democrats just want to figure out how to lie to us better…

Why don’t they Hispanics come and talk about this? Also they keep blaming the socialist label, but look at how well Bernie did with Latinos

  3. @richyrich3231

    December 14, 2023 at 7:43 pm

Love white liberals (leftists, not classical). They eat their own. A Bernie Sanders advisor, chuck rocha, beautifully explained this point.

  4. @wendysherbert3257

    December 14, 2023 at 7:43 pm

Many Latin Americans are small business owners. Maybe liberals should look at ways to support their businesses. Republicans are known as the business leaders, not us.

Think you needed to let David Shor talk wayyyyy more! You all had your “talking points” but did not give him enough time to discuss solutions.

Well, maybe a lot of Hispanic Women are reliant on working in trump properties.

It’s refreshing to hear the differentiation of latinos- not all the same. 👍 Important for analysis sake and for decision making.

    December 14, 2023 at 7:43 pm

I've warned the liberal youtubers over and over, please say "reform the police", not "defund". Departments might need more funding to pay for ethics education and updated training. They continue to say "defund" to this day. It's an unforced error in baseball parlance. We can achieve the same objective of better policing without using a divisive, misleading, slogan, open for misinterpretation. Slogans matter. "Defund" is idiotic.

  11. @jilliancopeland6825

    December 14, 2023 at 7:43 pm

Republicans are moving so far to the right it makes anything slightly left of them look far left.
What socialism thing 😅 Hispanic were feared into voting Trump with republicans communist bs and these guys here are just giving confirmation to the false narrative.

    December 14, 2023 at 7:43 pm

So Shor implies that educated people are a danger. Yippie…..let's all be dumb as dirt and be happy……AND CONTROLLED.

This Latina did not voted for Trump !!!!!!

    December 14, 2023 at 7:43 pm

Also, immigrants forget where they came from. This land of opportunity that opened up their arms is due to the credit of the impersonal support of communities. Will we immigrants do the same once we are in the stable place, or will we turn to the Republican political mentality and now want to hold on to our riches? The United States value of human rights is exactly what drove this country to this prosperous place.

  15. @07rayrod

    December 14, 2023 at 7:43 pm

Far leftist don’t understand branding n marketing and once biden says he isn’t for “defund the police” they attack him. Yall do more harm then good.

  16. @stevezelaznik5872

    December 14, 2023 at 7:43 pm

Eddie Glaude was super-defensive in this interview. So what if it wasn't white liberals but rather minority activists who came up with the "abolish the police" slogan? The point is that the idea was too far left for most people, including many Blacks and Hispanics. The slogan, whatever its origins, resonated with activists and with white liberals, both of whom were stunned to see minority support for the Democrats erode. Those of us who were paying attention could see this coming. When I was phone banking for Joe Biden and the Minnesota democrats I lost track of the number of people that were worried Biden was going to defund the police.

  17. @MartineReed

    December 14, 2023 at 7:43 pm

How can “voting conservative” explain Hispanics and Blacks voting for Trump??? He’s not a conservative at all and his only major legislative accomplishment was a give away to millionaires and billionaires that mushroomed the National debt?

  18. @akeleven

    December 14, 2023 at 7:43 pm

This guy is going to make a lot of money telling people what they want to hear. "Only Puritans can save us from the horror of having a healthy middle class!"
"The progresses are coming the progressives are coming we're going to all die!"

  19. @GD-me2lv

    December 14, 2023 at 7:43 pm

Florida is so anti- socialist they voted in a Minimum Wage

  20. @toddjones5742

    December 14, 2023 at 7:43 pm

progressive policies and social justice reforms are necessary… but … please learn to message … Dems are terrible at conveying ideas

  21. @MrMarco02

    December 14, 2023 at 7:43 pm

The truth is hispanic people are also racist. You can be white, black or brown and hispanic.

Not to mention all the smaller communities that make up the hispanic community.

In my family what i know is they liked trumos immigration policy.

Because they view that as strong. They think of immigrants as drains on the economy.

But thats also how mexico treats immigrants from south of their border.

Admittedly most of my family hated trump. But socialism or defund the police isnt why they voted trump. Its his immigration policy, his strong man rhetoric or thinking hes a successful businessman.

Because he cant keep a successful business, it all comes down to his rhotic.. some people lead torward facism.

I voted for claire mccaskill in 2012, now i live in Cali, but like she didnt lose cuz socialism. Thinking thats why she lost is why she lost.

  22. @janedoe1146

    December 14, 2023 at 7:43 pm

How can anyone concerned about law and order./ police turn around and vote for the criminal Trump?

  23. @mr.nobody9697

    December 14, 2023 at 7:43 pm

Hispanics outside of puerto ricans dont like black people lets be real. Trumps racist rhetoric and the villafying of blacks by republicans is a big part of what caused the swing.

  24. @mr.nobody9697

    December 14, 2023 at 7:43 pm

"Why president trump exceded polling expectations"
Oh Mika you underestimate the size of the white racist voter base.

  25. @johnlambert9976

    December 14, 2023 at 7:43 pm

Defund the Police as a slogan didn't work because the Democrats and activists did a LOUSY job of explaining it to the general population. The slogan itself on the surface sounds very confrontational even though it wasn't meant to get rid of police. Unfortunately the Dems had difficulty explaining the slogan easily and efficiently. It's too cerebral and required more explanation than you could ever fit into a sound bite or a news segment. The slogan made people who support a healthy police force and support law & order to get unnecessarily defensive. Honestly, it was a rallying cry for a non-election year but became a weapon for the Republicans during an election year and fed into their "Dems are a socialist, non law & order, pro-illegal immigration party" and the Dems did a terrible job counteracting that thinking.

  26. @davidwild3888

    December 14, 2023 at 7:43 pm

And where do the neo-Nazis, Proud Boys and Qanon fit into the Republican Party? Way to the alt right, I presume!

  27. @takakupo

    December 14, 2023 at 7:43 pm

David is a lazy analyst 😒

  28. @geewiizi

    December 14, 2023 at 7:43 pm

Poor David does NOT know Black people. So not true. We are all left. Socialism only hurts rich white folks. Hispanics see Nicaragua. Black Americans support the government growing. Yes they Hispanic women want to marry white men. Not educated Black voters. This fool does not know me!

  29. @geewiizi

    December 14, 2023 at 7:43 pm

So, DVD I guess I am a white liberal. I'm moving to the left!

  30. @gking08

    December 14, 2023 at 7:43 pm

Stop having Claire McCaskill on here. She has no spine.

  31. @rankat1841

    December 14, 2023 at 7:43 pm

If this country wants crime to go down then institute a UBI already. A majority of crime is born and cultivated from scarcity and inequity.

  32. @THMILLER

    December 14, 2023 at 7:43 pm

The defund the police wasn't the thing.
I think that the not explaining it was the problem.

  33. @THMILLER

    December 14, 2023 at 7:43 pm

    Thats wild!
Do they know that Conservative Republicans hate them??

  34. @blackraven763

    December 14, 2023 at 7:43 pm

Plus democrats need to start using the phrase reform the police… I believe that that's what they meant but used the "defund" the police instead and that confused people and made them veer toward the right…. Also let's blame the Latin media for also spewing BS to their viewers…. They are just like FOX. It's disgusting. They need to be reprimanded.

  35. @kevinmulcahy7991

    December 14, 2023 at 7:43 pm

A majority of Central and South American immigrants that I know, are either devout Catholics or Evangelical Christians. They often vote Republican on anti abortion alone.

  36. @lunickhossain4352

    December 14, 2023 at 7:43 pm

Why doesn't Morning Joe and Claire McCaskill talk about how Joe Biden and his campaign literally gave up on appealing to Latino voters the entire campaign. And why is there absolutely no discussion about Bernie Sanders, the so called "socialist", beating Biden with Latino voters on Hispanics by over 20 posts EVERYWHERE ACROSS THE COUNTRY.

  37. @karascene13

    December 14, 2023 at 7:43 pm

We have to admit that the Dems dropped the ball by not reaching out into these communities. Of course there will always be people who will never change their minds, but most of these people don't understand they're voting against their own interests and have been lied to. We need to get on the ground and inform!

  38. @laysonbrooks7658

    December 14, 2023 at 7:43 pm

Black people care about policing as well…like not killing us when doing so.

  39. @MT-it9qt

    December 14, 2023 at 7:43 pm

Let's listen to these establishment white people tell us how to understand what black citizens want.

‘ERODING our democracy’: Morning Joe reacts to SHOCKING NYT Editorial on Trump’s election meddling

Published

on

By

The New York Times editorial board is out with a new series tracking 12 categories of democratic erosion in the United States, highlighting the “worrisome steps” it says President Trump has taken toward undermining American democracy. Measuring on a scale from zero to 10 — with zero representing a strong, though imperfect, democracy and 10 representing a true autocracy — the board has moved one category, “manipulating the law to stay in power,” up to Level 3. The Morning Joe panel breaks down the ominous warnings from the piece as the country heads toward the November midterms and the 2028 election.
