How The Fall Of Roe Impacted The Midterms

Published

on

Abortion was the top issue for Democrat voters, and the second most important issue for voters nationwide. Since Roe was overturned in June, people who support the right to an abortion have been organizing, fundraising, and they got out the vote this midterm election. In both blue states and red states, voters chose to protect abortion rights and reject limitations in all five abortion-related ballot measures.

I'm not a very religious person but it shocks and disgusts me that some women have become so radical that they put killing babies over everything else! Late-term abortion (dismembering the fetus) when they can experience pain and can survive outside the womb is infanticide! Every country in Europe bans abortion after 15 weeks!

Roe being overturned means the end of the Republican Party?

Although the "Supreme"court took away women's health care rights, is it the Governors who approve how a state ballot is constructed.

I live in Texas. Women lost the abortion right to law makers. This is not about women like to have abortion. It is about the women's right. My kids and their friends were upset about this issue too. Our state sue school districts about the right for people to choose whether to wear mask or vaccines, but women have no right to make decision over their body.

Perhaps we should send a thank you basket to Justice Roberts for motivating the country to vote.. it was the Gen Z and millennials who were mobilised especially and may not have without this drastic action. Now we need to elect at least 3 new justices who have a clue and are based in the real world, not the 1830’s like ACB, Thomas and Roberts!

Why is America the only Country that doesn't know that inflation is World wide? And US inflation is a lot lower than almost any other Country.

Democrats have hissy fits over the mere suggestion that Dr. Oz "killed puppies" (as only stupid Democrats could phrase it) in medical experiments, but they yawn bigtime over murdering babies. They are some full fledged ignoramuses, not to mention Godless wonders.

To everyone bi*ching and whining about how the midterms went for the GOP, this is exactly what you wanted when Roe was overturned. You wanted reproductive rights to be decided at the state level. And people in almost every state, up and down the ballot, let you know what they think of the pro-life position. You lost and will continue to lose as this issue gets put to a vote in more and more states. Don't like it? Move to Mississippi.

I think it also reflects on how poorly the Pro-Life community (or more importantly, the politicians using it in their campaigns) thought it through. That Pro-Choice commercial that shows police showing up to a woman’s door to arrest her was very powerful.
There were also questions on how else they would actually follow through, for example, on how they would stop them from traveling to a nearby state (out of their jurisdiction), etc.
And who all this would reach, for example, who may be personally against abortion, but is pro-choice because they feel it’s totally wrong for politicians trying to come between women and their healthcare. Now, if they want to help lower cost of healthcare, or helpful in some way…fine. But standing there ready with handcuffs seems totally unreal.

It is about an extreme minority taking away bodily autonomy from more than half the population. If anything remotely similar were imposed on men there would be a complete meltdown. The GOP has lost an entire generation of women. There are no words to capture the rage provoked by the ignorance of this decision.

Roe was a tragedy that led to one of the worst holocausts in history. 70 million were killed by Roe. That's more than died in world war 1-2 combined. Abortionists are America's worst enemy.

Securing voting rights for all needs to be tackled. Imagine what the House & Senate would look like now if millions of voters could have cast their vote instead of having it suppressed.

Abortion — reproductive care autonomy — is a fundamental ECONOMIC issue that is also a human right.
Those who bleat they care so much about "babies' lives" make liars of themselves as they vote NO, uniformly + consistently, through both their 🗳 + the vote of those who represent them, on every single bill or initiative that's designed to help and support babies, children, youth, and families.

Wherever one falls on the abortion issue the Supreme Court ruled it’s a state’s rights issue so in other words regardless of support or lack of support congress isn’t able to legislate on the issue I think the various state referendums make plenty of sense I think why the republicans actually didn’t sweep more so because of Trumps personality to keep in mind during the 16 primary he competed with an enormous amount of candidates who weren’t really all that different and non motivated but that scenario is shifting the Republican Party had long stresses character I see that. Sweeping back especially among the leadership now found amoung the Republican governors across the country i think that’s also why lake despite Hobbs being weak hasn’t been able to capture the election I think if the republicans want the red wave and the presidency they have to say thanks for everything but good bye President Trump they were able to hold their nose with some of the vulgarity but the out and out lieg about the last election did him in the Republican Party is the conservative ideology in the Us populist sentiment was never going to carry it long

Agree with everything stated here. However, on the pie chart – missing one more very important item – threats to democracy. "…if destruction be our lot, we must ourselves be it's author and finisher." Lincoln. Prosecution for Jan. 6 of the man at the top is necessary.

Will Republicans follow the will of the people, when you seek money and power, I think the donors are the ones they follow. This is just like corporations, they don't care about consumers, it's about their management and shareholders.
