Authorities in Wuhan, China, imposed quarantine-like restrictions on the city of 11 million Tuesday, as they raced to stop the spread of a new coronavirus that’s popping up in countries around the world.

In Wuhan, local tourist groups are now banned from traveling outside of the city and police are conducting random checks of private cars for live animals. Infrared thermometers and screening equipment have been installed at airports and major train stations, according to CCTV, the state television network.

It is 3 years since this invisible monster shut down the WHOLE WORLD. To think we would see another Christmas at that time was in Mt mind slim, but we did. It was a.miracle to have survived and celebrated everything Christmas. I feel the same way in 2023. Embrace the lights, the laughter, the Christmas trees, the homeless…the sad, each other.

I believe the virus was here before they announced it. In December of 2019, I went to the emergency room because I thought I had the flu. I was tested and it came back negative so they said it was allergies. About 1 week later, I returned because I hadn’t gotten better and I told the doctor that my chest felt heavy. They x-rayed me and I had double lobe pneumonia. It was scary because it took me 8 weeks to get better. I coughed so much that I bruised. I cried because it was so horrible to the point that I felt like I was drowning from the inside.

I remember being told to go home from work in March of 2020. We were told to take our laptops home and to work from home until further notice. I honestly thought that we would return to work in a month. Boy, was I wrong. Everything being closed, stores running out of food, toilet paper and hand sanitizer. Let’s not forget the shortage of Lysol. Wearing masks everywhere. No funeral services for those who passed. It was weird to see the roads and highways without the plethora of cars. So glad it’s over.

Swan predicts Trump’s ‘free & fair elections’ speech announcement

Published

on

By

President Donald Trump plans to use part of a primetime speech Thursday to discuss new findings about the security of American elections, among other topics — setting up yet another high-profile opportunity for the president to dispute the results of the 2020 election he lost. Speaking in the Oval Office two days ahead of the planned address, Trump affirmed the speech would focus on elections and a “couple of other things.”

Officials said the speech is still being finalized, but Trump was expected to discuss several topics. He’s still deeply mired in his conflict with Iran, with nightly strikes in the country as he seeks a path to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. Even as that war appears to be restarting, however, Trump framed the elections portion of his Thursday speech as the centerpiece.
