Nicolle and Aaron Sorkin: This is Trump’s ‘ultimate mind f***’
Aaron Sorkin wasn’t planning to make another movie about Facebook — until he met a whistleblower whose story he felt compelled to tell. In an expansive conversation with Nicolle Wallace, the Oscar- and Emmy-winning writer and director discusses his new film, The Social Reckoning, and the extraordinary power Mark Zuckerberg and Facebook wield over nearly 3 billion people — and the costly decisions that have shaped the platform’s impact on our lives, our politics and our democracy.
A follow-up to 2010’s The Social Network, Sorkin’s new film examines Facebook in the age of Trump, telling the story of whistleblower Frances Haugen’s decision to expose internal documents detailing misinformation and potential harms, while exploring an older Zuckerberg confronting the consequences of the technology he created. Sorkin explains why he chose to release the film ahead of the midterm elections and why he believes there is still room for optimism — if we are willing to act.
Wallace and Sorkin explore Zuckerberg’s immense influence, the decisions surrounding Facebook on January 6, the people inside the company who knew what was happening and remained silent, and why Wallace sees Zuckerberg as “bubble wrapped from reality.” They discuss the complicated empathy the film invites audiences to feel for Zuckerberg — and how that empathy can coexist with accountability for decisions that affect billions. Sorkin also shares the story of Zuckerberg’s former consigliere and their falling out, his reaction to Jeremy Strong’s portrayal of Zuckerberg (whom Sorkin calls “the best American actor under 50 years old”), and Facebook’s efforts to obtain the film’s script before its release. He reveals how the filmmakers prepared for potential legal challenges, including the threat of a lawsuit.
The conversation also examines Trump’s relationship with Zuckerberg, the former president’s attacks on the media despite his apparent appetite for attention from credible news organizations, and the essential role investigative journalism plays in holding powerful people and institutions accountable. Wallace and Sorkin discuss why Congress and the law continue to lag behind rapidly advancing technology, the consequences of leaving that power unchecked, and why the stakes for democracy could hardly be higher.
And in a moment that connects Sorkin’s celebrated work across generations, the conversation turns to A Few Good Men, Hegseth’s “illegal order” and the enduring importance of questioning authority. Wallace, who was inspired by Allison Janney’s portrayal of White House Press Secretary C.J. Cregg on The West Wing to imagine a future for herself in the White House, joins Sorkin in reflecting on the responsibilities of the press, the dangers of unchecked power and the choices that define our political moment.
From Facebook’s influence over billions of lives to Trump, whistleblowers, investigative journalism and the future of American democracy, Sorkin’s message is clear: We need to take democracy more seriously.

George Conway: ‘Lying, intimidating, bullying. That’s Trump at his worst, and that’s Trump always’

It is well past the time this disgraceful Biden Family corruption was brought to a head and prosecuted, but that won't happen until the equally corrupt FBI and Merrick Garland are also brought to justice: America is being governed by an Irish Biden Mafia and their cohorts, and it seems that the average American is totally blind to what is going on under their noses:

If all the lawsuits against gerrymandered voting maps, are won, in 2024 there will be 5 new repub seats in the house. But
The Dems should increase by 15 to 18 seats! There will also be some 50 million new voters, who have come of age since 2015, who could vote. If you stay away from the lies on the right, most of those voters will vote BLUE!!
THAT said, we still need to get out and VOTE BLUE!!!

Gingrich initiated the GOP war against democratic politics by declaring every crime and lie justified as long as it damaged Democrats, To this day they spend half their time telling the most egregious lies about the Democratic Party being communist-fascist-satanists out to "destroy America" when it's actually NEWT who destroyed Constitutional governance.

Democrats ignorance and incompetence is overwhelming, no wander economy is destroyed, 7 millions of illegals running around this country and don't know what to do next, Iran is allowed to continue to develop nuclear weapon and Biden encourages that, Putin is threatening to use it and moved nuks closer to Ukraine, Middle East is on fire, China is building military installation 71ml away on Cuba and Medea is talking about indictments. None of this would've happened with Trump in office.

Believe there will be many more death threats, damage to private property, whatever it takes. Gym Jordan dropped the ball, made an error, did not follow orders & believe will be punished. This is not a political party anymore. Believe Its now a party based on Totalitarianism with a Dictator (being the USA billionaires Tax club big donors to the Republican party who control & rule the entire party including the RNC, Trump family, etc. who just carry out their orders).

Ali, in your first segment, you made a historical remark about the Dems and the Reps both having problem periods in the history. As a boomer, I have been around long enough to have experienced that, I think that the both party's conducts were not necessarily too responsive to working class Americans. Back then, "both side-isms" were appropriate, and a lot of us were skeptical of what politicians would say and do. Fast forward to today, and you can say the Republican Party has dissolved into a cess pit, and the Democratic Party has evolved into a firmly based patriotic party. There are now dozens of Dem. House and Senate members who are truly working to improve the lives of all Americans. The difference is astounding. The Presidential vote in 2024 should be an easy decision for voters to make. You don't have to change your philosophy people, just, for this one time, vote blue all down the ticket. It will be the final blow for the tRump cult. After that, hopefully things will start to get back to normal, including your voting preferences.

Please, Ali, "in fairness" the Democratic party has never been "a little broken" like this … and it's much worse than that anyway.
Then again you also refuse to face the reality that Biden is not helping Palestine at all. A "grown up speech" is worse than nothing.
Don't lie to yourself.
