Claire McCaskill joins #MorningJoe following the debut of the Harris-Walz campaign at Tuesday’s rally in Philadelphia. McCaskill contrasts Walz with JD Vance, stating, “Walz is mac and cheese and a trip to the hardware store. Walz is exactly what JD Vance is pretending to be. He is of the heartland. He is not coastal elite.”
McCaskill predicts a “mic drop moment” in debates, especially on issues like IVF, where Vance voted against protections that helped Walz and his wife have their child Hope.

If you want to ask questions of the shooter ask them of all those who think thoughts and prayers work better than gun laws to stop mass shootings. Then ask gun manufacturers.

I can't stop crying. As a mom, I feel his pain. Especially while he was talking about his son's smile—that really got me. Although there will never be a 100% solution, there are definitely rules and regulations that, if put into place, may have stopped this from happening. Make sure the politician you vote for pushes for Red Flag and better controls on those weapons of war.

I've never understood the idea of a "proud gun owner". It's akin to being a proud hammer owner. They both simply tools.
But, I suppose it's due to there being no cults of the hammer or NHA lobbying groups.

If early reports are true, this guy was not only mentally ill, but also a person who seems to have been an avid consumer of right-wing media. Maybe the connection will be elaborated on as more facts come to light in connection with figuring out what the killer believed or was seeking to accomplish. Or does this even happen any more, given there are more mass shootings than days in the year now in America. You know, because your "hearts" are different somehow, according to the new Republican House Speaker.

Let’s be realistic if it’s been acceptable to send thoughts & prayers after so many children have been killed why should Maine’s slaughter of 17 adults & one teen be different from the other mass shootings ? I don’t mean to sound callous or cavalier but the country will move on as it has so many times before, the names will be forgotten ( sadly) and the NRA will keep on buying our politicians. End of story. In the end desire for money and power wins. It seems there is a price for human life… not so very valuable once out of the womb.
