‘Withering rejection’: Trump loses presidential immunity fight—twice in one day
Judge Chutkan rejected Trump’s motion to dismiss his criminal charges based on a claim of “presidential immunity” on the same day a federal appeals court ruled that the former president can be sued for inciting the insurrection.

The Wall Street Journal has a new two-part feature detailing what it describes as Europe’s ‘rupture’ with the United States following this week’s NATO Summit in Turkey. The Journal reports that President Trump’s tariff’s and threats to take Greenland has sparked a quote, “rebellion” amongst European leaders who are now drawing limits on so-called “flattery diplomacy.” The paper reports many leaders now view autonomy as the long-term goal,. Rather than a temporary measure, adding that even if leadership changes the era of relying on America so heavily had ended. The Trump administration issued subpoenas on Friday to several journalists for The New York Times, after the paper reported on security concerns involving President Trump’s new Qatari-donated Air Force One. In some cases, the subpoenas were delivered by federal agents who showed up at reporters’ homes. The subpoenas seek to force the reporters to testify before a federal grand jury in Manhattan on Wednesday, and are an extraordinary escalation in President Trump’s efforts to threaten and intimidate independent news organizations. Trump truly believes that when anyone else is president, they have only say, 70% more rights than any other American citizen. When He is president He has like 450% more rights than other citizens and at a level that nobody has ever seen before. When he stops being president, then those presidential rights go back to 70% for any other president. Those that surrounded him enabled him in this thinking!
