Fmr. U.S. Atty: Trump’s last-day pardon is ‘violation of the rule of law’

Published

on

The New York Times reports new details – and broad implications – about Donald Trump’s decision to pardon a convicted drug smuggler with ties to Jared Kushner. Donald Trump is the only president to leave office with less money then when he went in. And he donated his salary. The Clintons and Obamas were worth hundreds of millions more when they left office. So no, Trump wasnt selling pardons children.

I've said it before, Trump Republicans are the LEAST American of us all. The gaslighting that they are the only true Americans and then support dictator Trump is a total joke. Don't allow them to say these things without setting the record straight.

  14. @claira8601

    December 22, 2023 at 10:03 pm

Trump violated the rule of law ALL the time when president, and Congress did NOTHING. Why? Because there are enough treasonous, fascist leaders in Congress, so it's the norm for leaders to violate law and ALL leaders ignore it.

The Constitution and the Rule of Law never envisioned someone would not feel shame or act defiantly to negate either of them. The fact that the DOJ can be compromised by someone with no respect for the Rule of Law is a problem that must be stopped by Congress.

what you are saying isthat somebody else gets to decide who the president can pardon. that is not presidential pardon. Their may be a process in place. It does not mean the president is obligated to follow it. Ford pardoned Nixon immediately'

Trump has for his entire life made a mockery of our laws and justice system. Every day he proves that there is a two tiered system, one for the rich and powerful and one for the rest of us. The DOJ won’t even take action when Democracy itself is under attack! Trump and all his elected republican accomplices in the coup attempt would have been immediately arrested and imprisoned in any other country on earth! And yes! That is following the rule of law!
