    Freedom caucus: Andy Biggs (Ariz.)
Biggs rallied against any use of continuing resolutions, short-term funding bills, in a Daily Caller op-ed earlier Friday.
“Because House Republicans did not timely produce a budget as required by law, ‘they,’ the leaders of the Uniparty, began championing their preferred budget mechanism, the CR. CRs have only made the American economy worse off,” he said on X, formerly known as Twitter.
    Dan Bishop (N.C.)
    Lauren Boebert (Colo.)

    Ken Buck (Colo.)
Buck lashed out against GOP leadership in a CNN interview Thursday night.
“For this entire year, House Republicans leadership has known about the September 30 budget deadline. There is no reason why we couldn’t have a fully funded government by now. The American people are rightly frustrated,” he said on X.

    Tim Burchett (Tenn.)
    Eric Burlison (Mo.)
    Michael Cloud (Texas)

Cloud called attempts at a continuing resolution part of “political games” in a statement released just before the vote.
“We have known this day was coming. Yet here we are in late September, with some in leadership using shutdown politics as a mean of pushing a Continuing Resolution,” he said. “While such political games may have been successful in the past, it will not work this time. We have to keep our word. It is time to do what we said we would do.”
    Eli Crane (Ariz.)

    Matt Gaetz (Fla.)
Gaetz specifically objected to funds for the Department of Justice and support for the war in Ukraine as reasons not to support the vote in a RealClearPolitics op-ed Friday.
He has been one of the most vocal Republicans against McCarthy’s funding attempts and has floated threats to oust McCarthy from his Speakership.

    Paul Gosar (Ariz.)
    Marjorie Taylor Greene (Ga.)
Greene lamented Congress’s odd work hours and limited fall schedule in a lengthy statement on X before the vote, saying a more rigorous workweek would lead to a funded government.

“Imagine if Congress started to function like a successful business instead of a failing government playing the same games no matter which party is in charge,” she said. “Things have to change.”
    Wesley Hunt (Texas)
    Nancy Mace (S.C.)
    Mary Miller (Ill.)
Miller cited a need for immediate action in voting no on the funding measure, instead of delaying a full budget.
“I voted no on the ‘CR’ continuing resolution because I will not be part of the process to kick government funding down the road until the holidays, when Senate and House ‘insiders’ will agree to ram through some massive omnibus with Ukraine funding behind closed doors,” she said on X.
    Cory Mills (Fla.)
Mills argued that passing a continuing resolution is akin to going back on the promises the GOP made to constituents earlier this year.
“I will not support DC status quo of a CR, Minibus, or Omnibus in lieu of us doing our jobs,” he said on X. “We need vast cuts, key reforms, and an economic strategy to tackle the GDP/ Nat Debt ratio. That’s why I voted NO on the CR/ ACT. I am open to working together and stay day & night to get the job done.”
    Alex Mooney (W.Va.)
    Barry Moore (Ala.)
Moore called on his colleagues to work overtime to get a full budget passed instead of a short-term measure.
“It has been 26 years since Congress passed all 12 appropriations bills. In order to impact policy and cut spending, we need to follow the statute and reject the status quo,” he said on X. “I am committed to staying in Washington as long as it takes and working with my colleagues across the conference to advance the 12 appropriations bills that curtail our out-of-control spending and help American families fight Biden’s 17 percent inflation tax.”
    Troy Nehls (Texas)
    Andy Ogles (Tenn.)
    Matt Rosendale (Mont.)
    Keith Self (Texas).

So interesting that the arguments Republicans keep using to justify the Impeachment Inquiry on the president are proven facts for Trump and his family as well as Justices. We have proof of those. There is NO PROOF at all for Joe Biden but they do not care. Instead of acting where there are clear violations of laws and conflicts of interests, they turn a blind eye because those are the areas they want to protect for self-interests. There is no concern with Law and Order, just a corrupt sick demagoguery and moral decay on the part of MAGA Republicans. This period in our history will certainly make new generations baffled and sick of their ancestors.

Could we have some honest reporting concerning a bipartisan group of lawmakers demanding that the custom and border patrol vigorously enforce federal law pertaining to products entering the United States suspected of being made by Chinese communist party in forced labor camps. A group of 10 bipartisan lawmakers are accusing, the Chinese communist party of violating the UFLPA federal law pertaining to forced labor. They claimed that the Chinese communist party is importing poly silicone products used in weather dependent solar energy cells. This group of 10 lawmakers claimed that these products are entering the United States through various porch in violation of federal law.
We need some honest reporting on this outrage.

It's obvious why there is suddenly massive outrage by the right-wing nuts. Republican leaders know how to manufacture boogie men to trigger false fears in their gullible base. That has been their go-to tactic for decades. Make them afraid and tell them their children are being targeted (false) and then they will cling to our political party thinking it is their defenders. LMAO Those dupes fall for it over and over and over. It's insane.

💥Finally, began Joe Biden impeachment inquiry. The true will go appear, cost what to cost. Corruption, bribery, tax evasion, influence peddling, foreigner’s illegal deals and mainly crime of US treason sovereignty, where he betraying your own country. Joe Biden commits all these crimes since when He was US VP. Countries like Romania, China (CCP party), Ukrainian and others are involved in corruption, briberies, illegal deals and others terrible crimes against human rights too having how partners Joe Biden's family. Never before no one had listened to talk about one US president to be involved of so crimes, never before emerged so many whistleblowers, witnesses, documents, phone records, bank accounts, proves against one US president. Unbelievable how much different kind of the crimes is involved in this evil scheme from Joe Biden's family. This is one powerful criminal's organization.

No matter how much Biden. The democrats and the media try to hide what is going on with Biden and what is going on in Washington. We the people still see it. We are not stupid. At least most of us are not stupid. We see the corruption. We see the dirty filthy politics. We feel the effects of the horrible economy that Biden and the democrats have created. Every time we buy gas. Every time we shop for food. We see that our southern border is under siege. We see the drugs flowing across the border. Killing our kids. All this possible because of the actions, and inaction from Biden and the Democrats. We see and suffer from the skyrocketing crime. All made possible buy the democrats.
Biden, the democrats, mainstream media, and social media are destroying America. Destroying the lives of the American people. Why? What is their goal? The total destruction of America? All while they spend our tax dollars everywhere but here. Bottom line. Biden. The democrats don't give a damn about our country. They don't give a damn about us. Well except for tax dollars. All they care about is total control and power over us, and stuffing their pockets with money. Wake up America. Before it is too late.

Nicolle and Aaron Sorkin: This is Trump’s ‘ultimate mind f***’

Published

on

By

Aaron Sorkin wasn’t planning to make another movie about Facebook — until he met a whistleblower whose story he felt compelled to tell. In an expansive conversation with Nicolle Wallace, the Oscar- and Emmy-winning writer and director discusses his new film, The Social Reckoning, and the extraordinary power Mark Zuckerberg and Facebook wield over nearly 3 billion people — and the costly decisions that have shaped the platform’s impact on our lives, our politics and our democracy.
A follow-up to 2010’s The Social Network, Sorkin’s new film examines Facebook in the age of Trump, telling the story of whistleblower Frances Haugen’s decision to expose internal documents detailing misinformation and potential harms, while exploring an older Zuckerberg confronting the consequences of the technology he created. Sorkin explains why he chose to release the film ahead of the midterm elections and why he believes there is still room for optimism — if we are willing to act.

Wallace and Sorkin explore Zuckerberg’s immense influence, the decisions surrounding Facebook on January 6, the people inside the company who knew what was happening and remained silent, and why Wallace sees Zuckerberg as “bubble wrapped from reality.” They discuss the complicated empathy the film invites audiences to feel for Zuckerberg — and how that empathy can coexist with accountability for decisions that affect billions. Sorkin also shares the story of Zuckerberg’s former consigliere and their falling out, his reaction to Jeremy Strong’s portrayal of Zuckerberg (whom Sorkin calls “the best American actor under 50 years old”), and Facebook’s efforts to obtain the film’s script before its release. He reveals how the filmmakers prepared for potential legal challenges, including the threat of a lawsuit.

The conversation also examines Trump’s relationship with Zuckerberg, the former president’s attacks on the media despite his apparent appetite for attention from credible news organizations, and the essential role investigative journalism plays in holding powerful people and institutions accountable. Wallace and Sorkin discuss why Congress and the law continue to lag behind rapidly advancing technology, the consequences of leaving that power unchecked, and why the stakes for democracy could hardly be higher.

And in a moment that connects Sorkin’s celebrated work across generations, the conversation turns to A Few Good Men, Hegseth’s “illegal order” and the enduring importance of questioning authority. Wallace, who was inspired by Allison Janney’s portrayal of White House Press Secretary C.J. Cregg on The West Wing to imagine a future for herself in the White House, joins Sorkin in reflecting on the responsibilities of the press, the dangers of unchecked power and the choices that define our political moment.

From Facebook’s influence over billions of lives to Trump, whistleblowers, investigative journalism and the future of American democracy, Sorkin’s message is clear: We need to take democracy more seriously.
