This is a congress problem. Lawmakers could have used laws that are already in place to break up large monopolies. They should stop Facebook from buying up Instagram etc. Allowing these big conglomerates to just get bigger stops any and all fair competition which is what drives down prices. We need a republican party willing to work at doing their job instead of tearing apart our democracy. Big Oil, Purdue Chicken, Meat companies just keep squeezing out smaller companies and now they have free reign to price gouge,51% of profits AFTER inflation is accounted for is all corporate profit right now. Deregulation is good for no one but billionaires. Republicans are so close to turning this country into a corrupt oligarchy they've lost all reason and have stopped legislating all together.

We fight back by firing ALL MAGA! Violence follows where ever they go. If they are not fired go to your HR and sue them. It will not be hard to prove to a jury MAGA is a hate group and cause a hostel work environment. But we ill not do it, we on the left are too weak to make hatful people starve. Instead we go out to lunch with them, invite them into our homes and go drinking with them. Hate is here to stay because we are too weak to do anything about it. So have fun with MAGA in your break room.

It bothers me that they're talking about wages going up making the price of goods go up as well. Because while that is true for small businesses, that is not what makes up the bulk of America anymore. These big businesses could and should take the hit to their record profits instead of passing the cost it along to the consumer. I'm doing my best to spend as little as I can to not support the price gouging, but with a household of four, it's difficult.

  31. @-TruthHurts

Last time I checked, the DOW and other measures are still unreasonably high on Wall Street. Secondly, the housing market is now and has been in a bubble while the rich were buying 'vacation' homes. Average Americans have been pushed out of the market for some time. Thirdly, big businesses that were making bigger profits while interest rates were low were doing stock buybacks and giving out bigger dividends. Fourthly, if wages for average workers increase, as they should, bigger businesses can reduce management compensation to cover the increases.
