Faux Snuz, LImbaaa and the authoritarian GOP that has been shilling for deep pockets for fifty years in an organized effort, stemming from the Powell Memo of '71, accidentally creating the Tea Party from nonsensical propaganda that threw truth out the window, a mob they lost control of themselves. The GOP FREAKED when Obama was president-elect wringing their hands that he was going to re-institute the "Fairness Doctrine"…but zip, noda. (Requiring equal time for opposing opinions.) And not a word since. Why do you think they were so concerned about that?
We need The Fairness Doctrine back now, along with the FCC turning back the clock to make news a public service requirement again for all media (Federal Communications Commission?) to stop the slanted commodification of news and opinion that fans the flames of nonsense still. The Faux real news people saw some light, but the talking heads are right back at it. And the radicalized populous just goes to deeper radical sources. Most of the radicalized GOP are still at it and going deeper. Hawley was a wiz kid and knows better, having studied extensively and with admiration from his professors…but now they are ashamed. His ambition drives his sedition, he's dangerous, as he tries to take over Frumplandia and competes with Cruz to do it. Sedition needs to be punished or it's just a training exercise, they need to be thrown out. At least enough of them to set an example. And the left has no-go zones from financial favor as well. We need our own independent version of the BBC along with full support for Public Broadcasting. It's transparency or death as a free country, token democracy if that. Arizona would have the state legislators rule over the election results as the GOP already tried to pass a bill to that effect this week. WTF?
The radical right special interest shills have catered to the lowest common denominator to gather eyeballs for profit and emotionalized political slant, and we've let them. The emotion was deliberate to circumvent logic and reality, to create the alternate reality that morphed as it must into mob mentality that we now are faced with we stood back and let happen. We were taking lawn chairs to a debate instead of the actual knife fight where we were the "enemy", not the opposition. They've come to believe their own propaganda in many cases. But the authoritarians amongst them believe what ever suits them as demonstrated by Republicans still saying the election was a fraud. Some are that stupid, most aren't. Stop the propaganda sources, restore reality. Fascists will always use our freedoms against us for their own agenda. Wake up, snap out of it!!!. It's We the people, not we the corporations or we the monied elite. We're all in this together or we're all screwed. Time to put on our big boy pants.

I completely agree that we need a coalition of reality (meaning the republicans have to stop radicalizing these lunatics) but to say these people aren't "far off lunatics" is crazy in itself. These are the people that believe the Democratic Party is a coalition of satanic, pedophilic, LIVE BABY EATING monsters. They believe, wholeheartedly, that during the Joe Biden/Kamala Harris inauguration, the military was going to round everyone up, (Biden, Harris, Obama, the Clintons, etc.), hold tribunals, find them guilty, and…execute them. That is as far off lunatic as it gets.

We need a coalition of magnesium. These people are magnesium deficient, and that's why they're crazy. It genuinely turns your brain to chalk. Chunks of your brain are cut off from other chunks and they can't work together, so you can't think about the consequences of your actions. You cannot get these people to listen to reason while they are still magnesium-deficient, which all Americans are, because for decades, we have fortified food with calcium, but not magnesium, despite the fact that this is demonstrably toxic and directly causes psychosis. Conservatives culturally hate vegetables and eat a higher amount of fortified foods.

The Molotov cocktail recipe:
Mix in equal parts of mental illness, willful ignorance, fear, hate, decades of 24/7 Reich-wing disinformation, misinformation, and crackpot conspiracy programming by Republican politicians, media and demagogues, add supplemental divisive Russian propaganda attacking and weakening America, stir well, garnish with COVID-19, and you have the mindless Republican cult descending into fascism, committing terrorism and sedition. Then, grab a stiff drink–you'll need it.
@wilywascal2024
December 29, 2023 at 8:11 am
The problem at the heart of all this is a Republican cult built up over decades by the GOP, plutocrats, Reich-wing demagogues, and Reich-wing print, radio, TV, and social media, programmed 24/7, radicalizing them and creating mass delusion. Sure, some of them truly are that ignorant or gullible; but most are willfully ignorant, being fed the lies they want to hear. They bear personal responsibility. Part of it's a cultural problem, as some mostly older white people's mistaken perception is that the America they knew is slipping away. Well, America is still America, but–like most nations–is constantly evolving, as progress invariably rolls on, but they are unwilling to accept that, or change with the times.
Those Americans elected this pitiful, puerile President, and have continued to support him no matter what travesty he commits! The creators of the Republican cult have always been weak men, and now find themselves harnessed by those they sought to enslave, subject to the fickle whims of a moronic madman and the mob whose ignorance they relentlessly nourished and cultivated. They created the beast, thought they could ride the tiger, exploit it for their own greed, vanity, and power, too stupid or uncaring to realize that it would instead inevitably come to consume them.
Conservatism has always been the endless, futile quest to justify greed, but the coin of the realm in GOP land is fear; it’s what they peddle, it’s what they traffic in, it’s what they carry in their pocket at all times. Then, they turn that fear into hate. And that hate is the poison killing them, America, and all of us. It’s the poison to which the Republican cult has become addicted.
Republican cultism is the disease, Toxic Trump is merely the most visible symptom and but one carrier of that disease. It existed before Trump, and it will continue when Trump is gone—unless or until the problem is adequately addressed. COVID-19 is also a disease; but a virus is blameless, unlike those who engage in willful ignorance. America would have confronted and easily conquered COVID-19 disease, had America not already been diseased for so long with Republican tribalistic partisan cultism. Racism, xenophobia, homophobia, misogyny and religious bigotry all were central to the formation of the Republican cult, and remain its lifeblood.
"United we stand, divided we fall." A simple concept, really, that too many Americans seem to have forgotten or abandoned. Our nation is like an airplane; it requires both the left and right wings working together in tandem to operate properly and safely. Only problem is the Reich-wing decided to try flying solo, forcing us all into a nose-dive! Care about the issues, disdain political gamesmanship, while still recognizing politics is an inseparable and necessary element. Have always respected and valued loyal opposition, even if in disagreement with the ideology. Fact is, though, the GOP has abdicated the requisite role of loyal opposition to become a mindless, tribalistic, hyper-partisan Republican cult placing political party over truth, reason, decency, and country.
