Police are investigating a cause of motivation after a man walked up to three Palestinian men and shot them in Burlington, Vermont near the University of Vermont campus. NBC News’ Tom Winter reports on the latest details from Burlington police and whether federal authorities will investigate.

The Wall Street Journal has a new two-part feature detailing what it describes as Europe’s ‘rupture’ with the United States following this week’s NATO Summit in Turkey. The Journal reports that President Trump’s tariff’s and threats to take Greenland has sparked a quote, “rebellion” amongst European leaders who are now drawing limits on so-called “flattery diplomacy.” The paper reports many leaders now view autonomy as the long-term goal,. Rather than a temporary measure, adding that even if leadership changes the era of relying on America so heavily had ended. The Trump administration issued subpoenas on Friday to several journalists for The New York Times, after the paper reported on security concerns involving President Trump’s new Qatari-donated Air Force One. In some cases, the subpoenas were delivered by federal agents who showed up at reporters’ homes. The subpoenas seek to force the reporters to testify before a federal grand jury in Manhattan on Wednesday, and are an extraordinary escalation in President Trump’s efforts to threaten and intimidate independent news organizations.
