AI’s Control Problem: Agents, Costs And Robots
AI is moving from answering questions to taking action, and the bills are arriving faster than anyone budgeted for. An agent that spins up thousands of other agents can turn a $20 task into a $50,000 one, and companies are starting to scale into bankruptcy. The fight now isn’t over how smart these systems are. It’s over who controls what they do and what they cost.
Deirdre Bosa talks with three executives at the center of that shift:
» Jeetu Patel, President and Chief Product Officer at Cisco, on rogue agents, guardrails and why autonomous systems need a kill switch.
» Lin Qiao, co-founder and CEO of Fireworks AI, on inference economics and whether efficiency can keep AI businesses solvent.
» Evan Beard, co-founder and CEO of Standard Bots, on the U.S.-China robot gap — 300,000 deployed to our 30,000 — and what it costs to lose the next platform.

America Needs An Open-Source AI Strategy
America has a chip strategy for AI. It doesn’t have an open-source one.
Washington spent billions protecting the hardware layer — the CHIPS Act, a stake in Intel, export controls on Nvidia. But the models the world actually builds on are increasingly coming out of China: DeepSeek, Z.ai’s GLM, Moonshot’s Kimi. Open weights can be downloaded, customized and run on your own servers, and are often cheaper.
Now the pressure is coming from inside American tech. Jensen Huang used his first post on X to publish an open letter urging Washington to treat open-weight AI as a strategic asset — co-signed by some of the biggest AI players, with Anthropic the major holdout.
Meanwhile enterprises are asking a harder question: who owns what the AI learns about your business? Deirdre Bosa tackles the layer of the AI stack Washington isn’t funding.
Chapters:
0:00 Introduction
1:19 Washington’s blind spot
4:27 Who owns your company’s brain?
7:35 The industry picks a side

Google, Twitter, Facebook forbade advertizing of cryptocurrencies! This is not very good! Only Telegram resolves and will never forbid it! I recommend to participate in their ICO while business is looking well http://www.icorating2018.info/telegramblockchain
