👍👍👍 Absolutely. People complain about how long the process is taking. But first, it does no good to bring a charge unless you have all your ducks in a row, that all the evidence is lined up, that you have an answer to all potential counter arguments. The last thing you want with any case is for the defendant to get off because you were sloppy in preparing or presenting your case. The charges against Trump are serious enough that it’s even more essential that all i’s are dotted and all t’s crossed.

If I read correctly what Andrew Weissmann says, in respect of the likely time that will elapse between Trump's indictment and his appearance in the dock in a New York City courthouse, there's time for more indictments to be issued in the interim.
Indictments from Jack Smith and the DOJ regarding the documents case and the Jan 6th attempted coup, and from Georgia and Fani Willis over Trump's flagrant election interference in that state. It'll be like waiting for a London bus on this side of the pond— nothing for ages and then they all turn up at once. Hahaha! Great! 👍😂

Well, if each case that Trump will be indicted for has these built in time delays it'll be 2026-27 or beyond before any trials . If he is re-elected as president, no doubt the "law" will keep him immune until after his term, which of course will never end. Is it time to re-think the timetables of American law?

Trump will die of old age before he ever sees the inside of a courtroom. I will be long dead too because it proabably won't be until the year 2100.
Gotta give Trump the rule of law, screw the public. The public doesn't get the rule of law.

  36. @katushawatkins1922

Seriously? Boring? Unfortunately, it won't be boring because Republicans are going to be stirring up the water constantly and until *rump is convicted of a felony, he can still run for office. That part is a drag, since the trial process is going to take a very long time. There should be other indictments coming down the line soon also. You'll have plenty to talk about. There are so many people involved in the crimes of the last six years, it's mind boggling. Most of them are still causing trouble.

  43. @gelatinskeleton8745

    January 3, 2024 at 11:40 am

It took 5 years to bring this “one” charge.

So, yeah… I can see the trial taking 20 years.

  44. @Gft579

    January 3, 2024 at 11:40 am

A lot of “firsts” for Trumpy-
First president to be impeached twice.
First president to incite an insurrection on the Capitol.
First president not to accept a peaceful transfer of power.
First former president to be indicted.

  45. @doughill8475

    January 3, 2024 at 11:40 am

The "boringness" of American justice is another reason why it's too bad this is first Trump indictment. The case is going to drag on forever on a relatively superficial charge. It won't be worth watching. The Georgia and Justice Department's Jan 6 investigations are the ones that matter. They will deserve our attention.

  46. @mikejohnson5491

    January 3, 2024 at 11:40 am

Someone has to be first to charge a former president. Old 2 time Impeached lying 1 term loser is going to delay.
