   Barbara McQuade is the finest legal analyst in the news business.

   There is a thing about her that strikes you immediately — but it's a trait that is latent. You don't realize it fully unless you watch her speak often.

   Barbara McQuade never stutters. Ever. Moreover, when she speaks, reacting to a question out of the blue, she forms coherent, connected, and cogent responses that are so clean and organized, most people couldn't sit down at a desk and write a response as good — even if they had been given the question a week in advance. She doesn't arrest her speech. She doesn't stumble, mutter or use superfluous words.

   She's gifted. She has built a savant-level intelligence about the law. She's the most watchable lawyer on television. Easily.

   Everybody loves Barbara McQuade. I'll bet even her defendants even admire her.

   Anyway, the reason for my post: I disagree with Barbara (which means I'm surely wrong on the facts) about DOJ and the lack of prosecutorial output.

   Joyce Vance and Barbara wrote an article about the things Trump has done that could form good cases. That article is a year old.

   It would be interesting to read an update to that.

    Foreign affairs minister of Canada Melanie Joly is initiating action in relation to getting a measure of justice and genuine help for Ukrainian Refugees.

    Melanie Joly said Tuesday that Canada will change its sanctions law to allow seized and sanctioned foreign assets to be redistributed as compensation to victims of war, Reuters reports. Canada is among a number of countries to have imposed sanctions on Russia after it invaded Ukraine on Feb. 24 in what it calls a “special operation.”

    “Today, we are seeking the capacity to not only seize but to allow for the forfeiture of the assets of sanctioned individuals and entities and to allow us to compensate victims with the proceeds,” Joly said in a statement on Tuesday. “These changes would make Canada’s sanctions regime the first in the G7 to allow these actions.
