Beyond Meat is fast growing company. Company’s product portfolio includes wide variety of plant based meat alternatives (beef, pork, poultry). Company’s products appeal to broad range if customers (carnivorous, vegetarian, vegan, etc). Plant based food developed by food scientists to replicate meat fibers and nutritional composition.

I don't know what you do for a living but I have invested in learning how the current system works full time since 2001. You can throw up all the government and corporate studies you want to try to convince me that large-scale industrial agriculture is the answer, when the evidence through testing for organic life in soil, the fungeability of it, the depth of topsoil all point to methods that continue to deplete the very skin of the earth that sustains all forms of animal life through the soil food web. Until those data points are discussed and valued by corporations as part of a long-term strategy that spans generations instead of the next quarterly report, well, you might get rich off Beyond Meat but you'll have to find another planet to live on that already microorganisms in their soil as well as all the other conditions for life, because those assets are in very short supply at any price.

@Tom Servo Check out the Savory Institute, Richard Perkins, Mark Shepard, Joel Salatin and their ilk if you want to see some inspiration of what is possible if family farms change their methods to mimic what these new prophets of sustainable agriculture are doing. This is not the right platform to debate it. No one in my community thinks Industrial-scale Beyond Meat is the answer for anyone but Wall Street.

BeyondMeat is more expensive than regular meat. There's no reason to buy it over regular hamburgers. They need to fix their prices.

This is the meat industry trying to scare off the competition. Granted, this was in another country, but I was in Canada in Quebec and at their mall there are a ton of shops that offer the Beyond Meat. All of the vendors remarked that it was pretty popular and I had it 3 different ways; spanish tacos, A&W burger, and some place that put it in lasagna. All of them were good.

If you're looking for a burger alternative, because you can't/dont consume meat, please try Impossible Burger. They're 1000% better.

Impossible Burger has a far superior product. I don't see Beyond Meat surviving the non-meat future without a lot of research and development.

AI May Not Solve Demographic Decline

Published

on

Martha Gimbel, executive director and cofounder of the Budget Lab at Yale University, says artificial intelligence is unlikely to offset the economic challenges of an aging population, arguing the US is confronting two major transitions at the same time rather than one solving the other. She says AI could improve productivity in some areas, particularly by helping caregivers with physically demanding tasks, but questions whether consumers will embrace automation in roles where human interaction remains essential.
