One of the prison staff was definitely in on it, they had to get the power tools from somewhere and they noise would've been heard by someone who deliberately turned a blind eye/deaf ear. I would check who was on shift in their block when they escaped…

100% they had help from a prison employee. 90% of the contraband in prison is from Guards. They like to say it comes from visits and inmate intake but it’s not true. Around 22% of jail employees are involved in contraband sale. Wether they sneak drugs/etc in or if they just take payments to keep quiet, the guards are who they need to investigate.
