Inspired by the opera, this show opened with Maartje Verhoef who came down in a gorgeous and whimsical dress with piano notes embroidered in black on the long, full skirt made of tulle. Designers Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli created a collection mostly made up of creams, browns, beiges, grey and black. Patterns came in the form of animal prints with some designs taking on the animal theme in a literal sense, such as the swan, snake, and peacock made with feathers. Lions and elephants appeared on dresses and coats.
