The Justice Department is recommending no prison time for a former Louisville police officer who fired 10 shots blindly into Breonna Taylor’s apartment during a botched 2020 raid that prompted a federal investigation into the city’s police department.
Brett Hankison, a former Louisville Metro Police detective, was convicted in November of violating Taylor’s civil rights. His shots did not strike Taylor.
