Traders are bracing for steep losses across Brazilian markets after President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva came from behind to win Brazil’s runoff election, halting a right-wing wave sweeping Latin America.

President Trump said it’s “getting to be decision time” on whether he will make a deal with Tehran or resume attacks. European natural gas futures climbed to the highest since 2022.

And France avoided a repeat of large-scale violence and looting that marred nationwide protests a week ago, suggesting the government’s decision to boost police numbers and contain marches paid off. The country also avoided a credit rating downgrade from Moody’s, even as the agency warned that social unrest could hit fiscal consolidation efforts.
