Oil Fluctuates Despite Steady Hormuz Flows | Horizons Middle East & Africa 7/6/2026
Today’s global markets update covers the biggest developments in geopolitics, energy, finance, and technology. President Trump heads to Turkey for the NATO summit and a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, while US stock futures surrender much of their earlier gains as technology shares remain volatile. Asian tech stocks also lose momentum after an early rebound, and Goldman Sachs revises its yen forecast to 165 from 155.
In energy markets, oil prices fluctuate as shipping through the Strait of Hormuz continues, OPEC+ raises production quotas, oil and gas cargoes increasingly use the Oman-side shipping route.
