According to Mary and Andrew, recent moves by President Trump’s administration have been following a pattern: “If at first you don’t succeed, try try again.” The co-hosts begin by breaking down the flurry of news surrounding mail voting, starting with Monday afternoon’s decision by the Supreme Court to allow President Trump’s executive order curtailing mail voting to proceed, though not issuing a decision on the merits of the order. They discuss that decision in conjunction with the Postal Service’s announcement on Friday for a final rule that would comply with the executive order, a move that Andrew calls a proxy for the government to “have the Postal Service act in a way that has a clearly disproportionate impact on certain voters.”
Then, a conversation about birthright citizenship after a motion was filed yesterday rejecting Trump’s executive orders that attempt to limit the legal principle. Plus, an analysis of the Second and Ninth Circuit Court’s rulings disqualifying U.S. Attorneys that were improperly appointed by Trump and a quick nod to Minnesota suing the governor of Texas for not extraditing an ICE agent accused of shooting a man in Minneapolis.

Claire McCaskill joins #MorningJoe following the debut of the Harris-Walz campaign at Tuesday’s rally in Philadelphia. McCaskill contrasts Walz with JD Vance, stating, “Walz is mac and cheese and a trip to the hardware store. Walz is exactly what JD Vance is pretending to be. He is of the heartland. So Meadows says asking about the election was his job, all the litigation was over by then, the court cases were all thrown out, meaning there was absolutely no evidence of any systematic fraud in the election, which in turn means the phone call was being made as a last ditched effort to get Raffensperger to change or as Trump says, find votes. That's not the job of a chief of staff, in fact there is a law that says he can't have anything to do with elections.

Meadows has a lot more explaining to do to escape from his behavior. We can see his guilt just by listening to his language and the tone of his voice on the tape. He had the same choice others had. He could have quit and walked away. Granted he might have wanted his resignation to be explained as a health problem or a family need. But Meadows was really just as eager to further his boss's crimes as Trump was. He and Trump were recorded, and we are thankful for it. We can now hear Meadows trying to further Trump's desire to destroy the votes of eligible voters by convincing Georgia officials to "find votes" (nonexistent votes) as Trump quite plainly put it. Trump was asking those Georgia officials to lie, to destroy votes, to deny the meaning of votes, to treat Georgia voters as though they were meaningless, useless, undeserving nothings. Meadows knew what he was doing. He knows it right now, today, yet he keeps trying to find excuses for himself. He drank the Trump koolaid, and it killed his honor. He should pay the price like everyone else.

It's not just the call, which is gross election interference. He went to Georgia in person to try to interfere, because the call didn't work. GOP: illegal acts, conspiracy, forgery, defamation, corruption, obstruction…
