   It really makes me sad that the Democrats have no better playbook for the 2024 election then to run Donald Trump down. The whole thing is, you’re right, it was an insurrection, and he fostered it, he’s absolutely guilty and he’s going to get away with it and your capitulating, and that’s what it is it’s capitulating exactly what he wants, it’s going to boost him right to where he wants to be. Congratulations you guys, you got played by a fool.

   I think we need to focus on his supporters and what they are doing in life,we seen JAN 6 what his supporters are capable of..
   The ppl that are still supporting this criminal need to be looked at..😂and a mentalevaluation after that

   All Trump had to do, was to accept his lost and leave office. He could have then ran again for president. But he just couldn't accept losing to Bidenby 7- million votes.

   Section 3 of the 14th Amendment to the Constitution of the United States makes it perfectly clear that anyone including DONALD TRUMP, who swore an OATH OF OFFICE to protect, support, uphold, or defend the Constitution of the United States, and subsequently “ENGAGED” in “INSURRECTION, or REBELLION or “against that same Constitution that underlies the Government of the United States, or “GIVES AID AND COMFORT” to “INSURRECTIONISTS” is not qualified to hold public office. In my opinion, that includes all 131 members of Congress who voted to overturn the will of the people AFTER the violent attack against the Capitol that houses the Government of the United States.

   So, if it was an insurrection, how come the only person to be charged with insurrection, except for Trump, who was acquitted? The Bipartisan Jan 6 hearings? 9 Congressmen, hand picked by Pelosi, specifically to get Trump including 2 Republicans who hated him before he even took office.
   And the insurrection case against Trump has more holes than swiss cheese, the question isn't whether SCOTUS is going to overturn this stuff (Chutkan is going to convict, that is a done deal. Don't know if her career will survive the backlash, because she has clearly abdicated her responsibilities for political purposes, I mean really, starting your trial on Super Tuesday?? Nope, that isn't political, then telling the Defense they don't have to read the discovery, that is malpractice, but anyway….) but rather which method they are going to use, as there are a lot….

   Oh WOW, at about 3:40….those Radical Republicans who inflicted the 14th Amendment upon us. The Republicans wanted to disenfranchise anyone who was part of the Confederate government, and the Amendment as proposed originally was exclusive to the Civil war and the Confederates, not future generations, it was scaled back in scope and extended to the future (does Jan 6 really rise to the level of the Civil War?) Here is another piece of history, those Radical Republicans were the anti-slavery party, while the noble Democrats were pro-slavery, and continued to be so long after the civil war, have a look at the voting records. I wonder why he is claiming it is the Radical Republicans who enacted the 14th Amendment, the one that has been used for most, if not all modern US civil rights legislation, is he against it for some reason?

   OK to know the law, let's examine that for a second Raskin, you love Sec 3, well, how about Section 5 that says CONGRESS, not a state court, will enforce the provisions of the 14th Amendment. Oh, don't like that one, how about Section 1, that No state can take away a person's life, liberty, or property without due process of law (in this case deciding Trump was guilty of insurrection, even though he was acquitted by trial in Congress, the correct authority, of these charges), how about Article 1 Section 3 "Judgment in Cases of Impeachment shall not extend further than to removal from Office, and disqualification to hold and enjoy any Office of honor, Trust or Profit under the United States: but the Party convicted shall nevertheless be liable and subject to Indictment, Trial, Judgment and Punishment, according to Law." Impeached, Convicted, THEN it can go to the courts, not acquitted, not recharged, but give him the penalty because we feel like it. Just WOW.

   Officer of the US, that is a debate, is the Head of State an Officer of the US, I believe he is, and I believe it is clear.

   Oh, and on the Jan 6 people in jail, believe whatever you like, but 3 years, in jail, without bail and without a trial, where communications between them and their attorneys have been monitored by the DOJ and prosecution, is just wrong. Period. That is totalitarianism at its worst.

    I love Jamie Raskin… I love listening to him speak… I am so happy that his hair has grown back from his cancer treatment… I kinda miss the bandanas though… I myself got cancer and had long hair… I lost my hair too.

    How many feds /dhs/fbi etc took part in jan 6 ??? we know of 200 , why did they not defend the capitol ?? why did Pelosi bring a camera crew ??

    Raskin – you're right but you're saying it wrong and not going far enough. It's undemocratic to not remove him from the ballot. Because insurrection is undemocratic. The founders didn't want proven betrayers of democracy to get voted in – exactly because they've proven to be a risk to democracy itself.

    Am sure this is a waste of time since you do not live in a world of FACTS – But one must try for "the challenged":

    Trmp violated his oath of office by creating an insurrection on January 6th, 2021. Congress met to certify the election of Joe Biden as President, a defeated Trmp incited and set loose a vicious, racist, mob on the United States Capitol – a mob he knew to be heavily armed.

    Trmp had sworn an oath on a Bible to defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies foreign and domestic. Trmp assembled, incited, and directed a domestic enemy to attack the Capitol. For more than three hours he refused to call off the mob. Trmp sat and watched on TV the violence he had instigated and did nothing despite the pleas of his advisors, Fox News personalities, family, and members of Congress whose lives were in jeopardy.

    Trmp threw fuel on the fire at the Capitol by attacking his Vice President, Mike Pence, in a tweet that further inflamed the mob.

    After Fox News declared that the tide was turning on the protestors at the Capitol, Trmp grudgingly agreed to tape a message calling off the mob and in it he praised the mob and told them never to forget what they had done that day before finally telling them to go home.

    A thorough investigation by the bipartisan January 6th Committee laid bare the criminal conspiracy by the former-President and his co-conspirators and their bald-faced attempt to overturn the result of the 2020 election. It was a multi-pronged effort to steal the election that Trmp had lost and the insurrection on January 6th was only a final desperate attempt to cling to power despite losing the general election.

    The voters already decided in 2020 and Trump lost. If the US Supreme Court doesn’t uphold the Colorado and Maine’s decision to bar Trump from their primary ballots, then that’s proof that we, here in America have a sham Republic. Even conservative Constitutional Law scholars William Baude and Michael Stokes Paulsen wrote in a law review paper that Section 3 is "self-executing, operating as an immediate disqualification from office, without the need for additional action by Congress". Mr Trump could therefore be rendered ineligible for election, the pair concluded. Mr Baude and Mr Paulsen are members of the Federalist Society, a highly influential conservative advocacy group, and their stance has since been backed by other legal experts with conservative credentials. Even the Supreme Court, with its conservative majority and trio of Trump-appointed judges, may be receptive to their argument, said Jeffrey Sonnenfeld, a dean at the Yale School of Management who supports the Baude-Paulsen perspective. So if the Supreme Court allows Trump to the Presidency, then we really don’t need the 14th Amendment or any part of the US Constitution as it then become nothing but words on paper, not even worth the paper it’s written on.
