   Lets remember how the Niners were rolling through the league at this time and were preparing for a 3-peat. I imagine the Niners would have beat Buffalo in that Superbowl. This game featured Hall Of Famers on both Sides of the ball and even though there was only 1 TD. It was so well played, well coached, and came down to a few critical plays. True Sports Drama and it was awesome to witness.

   LT made the biggest defensive play of his career, by tackling Roger Craig and strip ball out of his hand, and the New York Giants stopped the San Francisco 49ers from three -peating going to the Superbowl. From KB

   I'm still not over this loss! So close to a 3-peat but those Giants destroyed it… And it wouldn't be the last time they ruined a legit Super Bowl run in Candlestick!

   The 49ers were never the same after this game. Yes they would go onto the Super Bowl 4 years later, but they were never the fearsome 80's 49ers again. The Cowboys were emerging and won 3 Super Bowls in 4 years and the 49ers just couldn't get past from 95 to 97 the Packers. So this game really changed how the 49ers just ran into roadblocks year after year. For the Giants they didn't turn it over and played a perfect game plan against the Bills winning it 20 to 19. After Parcells retired, the Giants went downhill until 93 when Dan Reeves took them back to the playoffs, but lost to the Giants in the divisional game. They didn't have playoff success until 2000 when they made it back to the Super Bowl.

   This Was the Last Team to Play in the Super Bowl and who Won their Championship game im a Raiders Fan now BUT this 1990 Giants Team was the last team I rooted for to make and Win the Super Bowl.

    I was only 3 years old so it's just before my time, my memories kicked in a couple years later around the Dallas NFC championships and 94 super bowl run. I grew up with Steve not Joe but Joe was legend and GOAT.

    First game I can really remember, 9 years old at the time. My father was at a wedding in an era before cell phones and called home every 10 minutes to get an update on the score. He was so annoyed that he had to go to that wedding and apparently the couple divorced a year later which infuriated him more.

    As great as LT (was), no one deserves more credit for the Giants victory over the 49ers than Leonard Marshall in the 1990 NFC championship game!!

    Not a Giants or 49ers fan but one of the best games I've ever seen, despite there only being one touchdown.Such a gripping contest.

    I am still pissed I can't stand the Giants does anybody see that Roger Craig flat handed the ball to LT this game was rigged they couldn't even get in the end zone they ruined the 49er 3 peat because of Black 59 razor I hate this game and I'm not even a 49er fan

    Niners had that. They would have been the first threepeat. So many things had to go right for the Giants and they all did. Montana knocked out. Fake punt work. The fumble. They got all the breaks that day. It was just meant to be.

    I’m almost 40 now and I always remember the Giants for being such a defensive team. This was one hell of a game and I remember how disappointed I was that Montana didn’t get to go to the Superbowl that year. Oh the memories.

    Montana wasn't hit in the back with the helmet he wouldn't got another ring they're on their way in the lead too bad today's rules went the same back then to protect the quarterback heartbreaking to watch
